Jerry D. Hobbs and the Rhythm Makers-
Jerry, one of eight children, was born in Lindsay, CA, April 13, 1941 to Joe and Dorothy Hobbs. He was raised in a humble environment with parents from Arkansas and Oklahoma. Working hard in the fields picking cotton, grapes, chopping cotton, etc was just a part of life. Joe, being an outstanding singer/musician of Country Music, was an inspiration to Jerry.
Jerry formed his country band in 1981 playing three nights a week for five months at the Cuckoo Inn in Delano, CA while honing his singer/musician skills. He then progressed over the years playing venues from Bakersfield to Fresno and down through the southern coastal areas. He has been playing for well over 25 years with one of the best Country Western dance band's in the area.
He has released some of his own "original" music to many countries overseas. Australia and New Zealand have been one of his strongest supporters, with much airplay throughout the United Kingdom. Nashville's Jessica James recorded and released one of his songs, "I Love A Rodeo Man" with good airplay overseas.
His goal has been to keep the "sound" of good old traditional Country Music alive. That's what he is successfully doing and will continue to do as long as he can.
